Deluge

Initially, the girl isn’t much to look at on the surface. A patchwork coat of greys laid out over a base of white, accented with patches of pale pink. As she grows and her eyes change from blue to a deep and burning amber orange, her oddities begin to come to light in the sprouting of antlers to match her mother, retractable claws like a cat, and a faint blue glow that comes from the white parts of her body that flashes brighter when she is startled or moving fast. This glow is chemically similar to a colony of dinoflagellates. To maintain her glow, she does need to have regular saltwater baths, and when coming into contact with mucous membranes (eyes, mouths), this glow can cause unpleasant side effects to others on occasion.

While she starts out similar to her siblings in size, the girl will eventually grow to a full 45” height, though she will always have a lighter build than her parents. Her skin is a delicate pink, leaving her more prone to sunburn than others and setting the girl up early on for a more crepuscular rhythm.

In the way of youth, the young girl seems to possess boundless energy. She will be difficult to amuse for long and always on the look out for the next big adventure. She will begin her treasure hoard early on, and only plans to add to it as she grows. She will be difficult to persuade to part with items she views as valuable, even if the trade might be a fair one. This may cause problems for her down the track as even if she sets out to find a resource with a view for trade, she is liable to become attached and renege on agreements as she can no longer bring herself to part with the item in question.

Growing up on the sharp side of her mothers tongue will instil in the girl a quick wit and a dark sense of humour. She may make jokes beyond her years but there is a very real chance she understands exactly what she is insinuating. She will be jealous of others achievements and will covet what they have, but this only serves to fuel her ambition. She will be a plan-maker, and a risk-taker, with the biggest threat to her own success being a very short-temper. The girl is unlikely to suffer fools for long.
