Appearing as if she was plucked directly from a galaxy somewhere out in the universe, her coat is a swirling mix of all different shades of purple, indigo, violet, and slight highlights of blue. The patterns are indistinct and speckled throughout, like the curve and swirl of the Milky Way. The only distinct marking she carries is a delicate collection of white lines that form around her left eye, looking almost like vines with small dashes that could be mistaken as leaves. These white vines stretch up toward her ear and drape over the top of her cheek with one line that highlights directly under her eye.

Her eyes pull from the slight aqua hues in her coat, holding a vibrant and piercing shade of turquoise.

The structure of her body can seem not quite right to some with a height that towers over most and a build that is sender and willowy. Her limbs stretch on for ages and her features are sharp and angled. She glides through the world around her with an unsettling ease, making her able to sneak up on those she wishes to harm and gives her swaying, graceful strides towards the wolves she wishes to seduce.

Exotic and spiced, her scent holds obvious notes of cassia bark and jasmine.

unique atributes

Spiked ridges of black bone grow from her skull, starting right above each brow and extend back toward her ears. From a distance you might think they are three individual, short horns, but they are all connected into a serrated row along the curve of her forehead. Her paws are larger than most and appear to be formed more similarly to a tiger's paws than a wolf's. Her claws are razor sharp and retractable like the large feline's and these larger paws make it easier for her to quietly stalk her prey. appearance

While it might seem conflicting to hold her family and their customs as such a cherished part of her life while having such little regard for life itself, it makes perfect sense in her mind. She does not fear death or the cycle of life and instead embraces the fact that she has the power to give and take life as she sees fit. Her life was a gift from the Ancients that not even her traitorous mother could take away and so she follows the letter of their laws very closely. She sees beauty in the ceremonies she was taught as a child and feels no sorrow as she spills the blood of her culled children - instead feeling joy in the fact that they were able to bring more power to their remaining sibling and live on with the Ancients that gave them life in the first place.

While she is viciously protective of her family and her children, she isn't exactly what you would picture as an ideal mother. She expects her children learn and fail on their own and she won't try to rescue them from any problem they create for themselves. Any weakness that they might show is taken as a personal failure for reading the signs from the Ancients incorrectly and choosing the incorrect child to raise. If any of her chosen children are to die or be killed then she would only mourn because of the fact that her offspring are so limited and few, not because of any particular love or affection for that child. She is more likely to lash out in anger toward whoever or whatever killed them than she is to break down in sorrow over the loss. If any of her pups or family do show strength or succeed in their endeavors then she will not be shy in showing her pride for them and praising their accomplishments while still pushing them to reach even higher.

In the same vein, it is difficult for her to be satisfied in herself as well. She'll always be reaching higher, pushing her skills further, and craving more of whatever she has deemed her current goal. She does not necessarily focus these desires toward leadership, but she might instead focus that drive on a pack as a whole or just in challenging herself to be the most deadly fighter or hunter around. She doesn't mind abandoning a group or pack if she decides that they are not up to her standards and is extremely selective with who she gives her loyalty to. Her word is a precious thing and she does not give it lightly. personality

Manea was born to Camilla Mendacium and Aeson Floros, the third litter born to the pair. In Mendacium tradition, all of Manea's littermates were culled off, leaving her as the lone surviving pup for that litter. While her mother performed the traditional ceremony to chose who would live of her older siblings, Camilla saw the small beginnings of Manea's horns and decided that was sign enough that the Ancients were strong within her.

During the first few months of Manea's life, her father was tragically killed when he was overwhelmed by a tiger that had attacked him for the prey he had just finished hunting. This left Camilla alone with her three children, which did not phase the Mendacium woman. Mendacium women as a whole were fairly independent as it was and even though she did not typically indulge in the polygamy that many of her sisters and ancestors had, she was not in love with Aeson in the way most traditional mates might be.

However, since she was only five years old at the time of his death, she was devastated by the fact that she would not be able to have any more children. Most Mendacium women had litters late into their lives to make sure that they were able to produce as many descendants as possible to offset the fact that there was only one produced each year. With only three children she felt slighted by the laws that she and her family were meant to follow.

The two of Camilla's siblings that lived near them as well as her older children, Kallisto and Amator, tried to assure her that Aeson's death and Manea being the end of her line meant that Manea would be the most powerful of them all, praising her for producing this heir to their family that would be able to channel all of the power of the Ancients that would have otherwise been spread out through several more offspring. Camilla refused to listen to them and was driven by her own anger at the situation to seek out another mate despite her family's wishes.

When Kallisto, Amator, Manea, and Camilla's siblings found out that Camilla was pregnant by another male named Cato, they gave her an ultimatum. Either she send Cato away and kill all of the children that were born from that union or they would all abandon her and disown her from the Mendacium line as penalty for breaking their family's laws. At first they thought that Camilla had seen the error of her ways since she agreed to chase off Cato, but when the pups were born she went through her usual ceremony and picked her chosen child, a girl she named Desponia. It came to light that Camilla had secretly been seeing Cato behind their backs and had never actually planned to follow through with the agreement they had made, hoping that once the pups were born her children would feel badly about killing their youngest sibling.

Furious with their mother for lying to them and going against the laws that had been established for generations upon generations, they shunned her and drove her away from them. Camilla's siblings did the same and told her that she was no longer allowed to use the Mendacium name, telling her that she would now always be known as Camilla Antonis to match the male with witch she had sinned and instructed that their daughter be called the same.

After the fall out that happened in the wake of their mother's betrayal, Kallisto, Amator, and Manea went their separate ways as many Mendacium wolves tended to do in order to find the best mate to bring into their bloodline, agreeing that if they ever found a place suitable enough to be prosperous for them all then they would find a way to alert the other siblings and bring them back together again.

Almost a year into the search, a raven found Manea and led her back to a land where Kallisto had settled with a male named Anzo Breher. It wasn't an ideal home, but there was a good supply of prey and a nice cave system that they could convert into dens for all of them so it was suitable enough. The main reason that Kallisto had summoned her sister, however, was that she was expecting her first litter and wanted her siblings to be a part of her child's life as well as have Manea's input during the ceremony to choose the child that would go on to carry their name. It wasn't uncommon in their family for siblings to assist with the raising of each other's children and since Manea hadn't yet found a mate of her own she easily decided to help Kallisto as a wet nurse, immediately beginning to eat alfalfa to produce milk as well. Kallisto's ravens were not able to find Aeson before the pups were born and so gave up their search for the time being.

The birth was troubled from the start with a labor that lasted far longer than it should have and increasingly difficult contractions. By the time that the pups finally began to be delivered, it became very obvious that there was a some kind of internal tear or injury and that Kallisto was losing too much blood. The older sister was fading quickly, but Manea did her best to keep her conscious and help her finish delivering the pups. Lacking the strength to complete the process herself, Kallisto watched as Manea performed their traditional ceremony over the four pups that were lined up next to her stomach, the Ancients leading instincts to a snow white girl with pale pink nose and paw pads had been the last to be born.

One by one, Manea prayed over each of the other pups before ending their mercifully short lives with a quick snap of their necks. Each time she killed one of the pups, she would dip a paw pad in their blood and draw a stripe across the albino girl's back, continuing to prey to the Ancients that the strength of her siblings be given to her instead. Once the ceremony was complete, she turned her attention back to Kallisto who was barely able to speak and give the girl a name - Nirvana.

Kallisto gave Manea one last request and asked that her life be given to Nirvana as well. The request shocked Manea at first, but she understood that her sister would soon die either way and even though it had never been done in the past, she could understand the desire to give every ounce of strength to this girl. Despite Anzo's protests, Manea followed through with her sister's plea and killed the woman as well, painting a crown of blood around Nirvana's head. She barely paid attention to Anzo's outrage and sorrow somewhere behind him, the sounds eventually fading off as the man left her with the remaining child and abandoned the family altogether.

Manea picked up the child and carried her into a separate cave where she had set up her own living space, staying there long enough to feed the blood-marked girl and make sure she was tucked away somewhere warm before going back to where her sister and the unnamed pups laid dead. She spent a few hours digging graves for each of them, occasionally going back to Nirvana to ensure the pup was doing well, until she was finally done with the task.

Now completely alone with the pup that was less than a day old, she employed the ravens that formerly served Kallisto to go out in search of Aeson once again as well as any of her aunts or uncles who might still be near by. After a couple of days they came back empty handed so she abandoned the idea of finding help, instead giving all of her attention and energy to raising Nirvana as her own. After weathering out the remainder of spring and winter with the young pup, she decided that come spring they would go out in search of a permanent home, resuming the search she had started a year and a half before. That eventually brought the pair to Boreas and Auster, the most promising area she had found up to this point. That was enough to get her to settle here for the foreseeable future.

Familial beliefs:
The teaching and beliefs of the Mendacium wolves are that members of their family line are reincarnates of their ancestors, believing that the wisdom and strength of those ancestors is passed on and added to with each new litter, making them stronger with each new generation. These ancestors are referred to as Ancients.

It is believed that all pups but one in a litter must be killed in order to channel all of the Ancients’ power into the remaining child, blessing that child with as much strength as possible. It is also believed that allowing this one child to have the entirety of the mother’s attention and resources gives them every opportunity imaginable to succeed. Some Mendacium believed that the larger the litter is and the more pups that have to be killed the stronger the remaining pup will be, but that isn't always thought of or believed.

The pup that is spared is typically a female, though if no female is born then a male will be spared. It is tradition to preform a ceremony over the pups to determine which child will be chosen, though in more recent generations they may opt to simply chose the pup that seems to be the largest and healthiest or has the most striking and distinguishing features.

It is important in their beliefs that each Mendacium only take one mate, though that mate does not need to be romantically bound if they do not wish to be as such. It is not uncommon for a female Mendacium to have a male companion to be the consistent father to their children to ensure the bloodline stays the same between siblings while she also keeps a female lover - or perhaps several. There are no laws in their beliefs over how many lovers or partners one can take as long as all children are born from the same partner.

Because all children must be born from one set of parents, the Mendacium in the pairing must be incredibly selective when choosing who their mate will be. Their partner must exhibit all of the strength, wisdom, ambition, and physical traits that they wish to see passed on to their children without exception. This caution will drive them to search far and wide until they find someone that can meet these high standards.
