Until at last, the trail was lost to him. With an angry snarl, he turned suddenly from the path. Looking into the woods as his temper began to rise. It would take some time to get back to the pack. In the meanwhile, the storm would only pick up. He would be in the heart of it long before he returned home. The knowledge only further soured his mood.

The insufferable heat only had one advantage, it was too damn dry to allow her mushrooms to make an appearance, so perhaps that left her with the option of moving to a desert instead of a mountain top? If only she could bring herself to stomach the sand. Her lip curled in distaste, that didn't seem like a good idea to her, when she really stopped to think about it. So, she had turned to the north instead, in search of cooler pastures.
The dense canopy had appeared promising until she realised how the tightly knit trees stifled the wind. Rolling her shoulders in an attempt to get some airflow through the crystals that lined her neck, she tried to ignore the promise of a storm in the breeze.
Her ravens chattered overhead, hopping from branch to branch. Tipping her head to consider the way the trees rested against each other, she wondered if perhaps she could join them? If her steps were steady and the approaching storm didn't rock the boughs too drastically...

His companion saw the raven before he did. She fell from the sky like an arrow, colliding with the raven in such a way that allowed her talons to hold his wings closed. Shoving him from his branch with the force of her momentum, carrying them both to the ground. The raven in the mud, and his goshawk above her.
Flare’s eyes rose from the creature in the mud, back up to the stranger, and he smiled. Her timing was… fortuitous. An outlet for the frustration bubbling inside of him.

The skies breaking overhead offered very little relief from the sweltering heat. Still, she allowed her eyes to close for just a moment and she turned her head towards the sky. Her eyes snapped open when the cry of a goshawk and the startled cry of her second raven pierced the sky. Her heavy head whipped to the ground, a paw swiping out in defense of her companion, teeth clicking in warning, oblivious to the wolf standing so close by.
She slipped between her parent's tongues without thought. "Dra åt helvete! Himmel råtta..." She scowled, "Baka da na." Her second raven swooped to peck at the bird, her tiny owl joining in the fray, her eyes only widening slightly in alarm.
Movement had her ears falling against her skull, finally falling on the smirking wolf. Was she fucking blind too? Her lips pulled tight against her teeth with uncertainty, muzzle just wrinkled enough that her deer tusks twitched back and forth. "Kuso yarou." She muttered, finding her voice in a language most understood. "This yer fuckin' bird?"

At words he could finally understand, his smirk only grew. “Yes, the raven is mine. Now. Barely a snack to wet my appetite, but it will do…” he taunted her lightly. Standing between her and the fox. If she wished to reclaim her companion, she would have to go through him. He was quite happy to eat her friend in front of her if it came to that.

Morganna had never been a patient wolf. She had rarely been thoughtful of conniving. So when the fox clicked its teeth, she stomped after it, and when the man stepped between her and her raven, she didn't bother with words. Instead, she rolled her shoulders forward, crystals glistening about her neck, quills flaring over her hips and tail. Her ears pinned against her skull and lips pulled back, barely offering a threat before she lunged toward his shoulder.
Morganna Archer was not here to fuck spiders, and with her companions the only family she had left to call her own, she'd be damned if she let the fire-marked man bring harm to them while she still had air in her lungs.

His leather neck arm would protect him somewhat for her creeping too close to his vulnerable throat, and his thicker coat offered him some protection from her attack. He let her attack land, and turned his own head. Going for her throat, and finding crystals littered through her coat. He snarled with annoyance as he sought a path through them.
