When Sparrow announced their sparring partner, Scald tossed a look at Rexx. Oh, they could take the big red man! A sly smirk appeared on his face as he squared up with the man. "Okay, so you go straight for him and I'll go around back," Scald whispered to his brother, trying to use their different body types to an advantage. With Rexx being the burly one, it would be easier for him to go head-on with Ignis. His own slimmer body would be more agile and have a better time doing something more... tactful. Not that he was insulting his brother or anything.

Without another word, the colorful body dashed out to the left and made a circle around toward Ignis' rear end. Going as quickly as his awkwardly large paws would let him in the sand, Scald aimed to latch on to Ignis' rear right leg. His front paws reached out as he leaped and his mouth opened up. Bristling his quills that ran along his spine in case Ignis attempted to grab onto his back, Scald hoped he would be successful in his attack.

Scald could keep his slinking, stealth combat. It really wasn’t Rexx’s style and never would be. It didn’t suit him, much like head-on combat didn’t fit his brother’s abilities. To each their own, and it made them all the more powerful as a team. Upon mention they were to fight the big red dude - Ignis or something, he didn’t really keep track of wolves besides his family and friends - the tusked boy grinned. A mischievous glint flashed in his gaze as Scald raced ahead of him, aiming to skitter around and latch onto the red dude’s hind leg. It was a good move, but Rexx had other ideas. The burly boy used his own brute strength to sorint face-on to Ignis, his forelegs propelling him at powerful sprint. He aimed to stop suddenly, sand spraying as he aimed to sharply whack the side of the adult man’s head. Not reslly at a force that could cause any real harm, but perhaps knock him around a little to give Scald the opening he was aiming for. Okay, so maybe Calico Jack had not been paying the best attention to who their opponent is and the fact that he has freaking crystal spines jutting out of his back. Well… shit. His bite is avoided and, in return, Gil even manages to give him a solid thwack between his ears. Stars burst into life in the pup’s version as he sways slightly but quickly shakes his head to get himself back into the game.

So maybe Ajax can’t get on Gil’s back but he does distract the big guy and, when the Gil goes to bite his brother, Jack seizes the opportunity. Small form launches sideways, as he tries to move around the side that Gil isn’t paying attention to so he can attempt to deliver a hard bite to Gilgamesh’s back toes. Maybe that will make him think twice about walloping kids between their ears!... Okay, probably not but he does what the big guy to remember that Calico Jack is not a push over… or something.

"Calico Jack"

He was paired up with two of Gil and Modesty's kids. Both had unique traits, and he was interested to see how they both did against him. While the pair plotted and planned, he adjusted his gear and silently motioned for his companions to take up positions just in case they wanted to have a go at teaching these kids a thing or two. Ignis squared his stance, lowering himself slightly and ready to move at a moment's notice. He waited for the two kids to move first, and as one went around him, he kept his eyes on the one that came from the front. He was a seasoned fighter, had seen just about every trick in the book, and while he usually fought with an all-out no holds barred approach, this was practice against his own packmates. So he would have to reign it in to avoid spilling blood or hurting them...or at least just enough to not hurt them too much.

He acted as if he was bracing for impact from the front, all the while listening for the approach of the one from behind. Once he felt the breath of the one in the back, he dodged off to the side, feeling teeth just barely knicking his hind end, and the one in front just barely missing him by a hair. His goal here, was allowing the pair to collide with each other with their own momentum, while he pivoted around and came at them, seeking to barrel into them with his body and potentially knock them both down if his tactic had worked.
