Relm had moved back into her normal routine around the pack since her last real encounter with Alastor and after what had happened between her and Merrick. But she was really far from... normal. She was a lot more down than she had ever been, if she had ever been. She did feel different these days. She had rough times before but, not like this. She wasn't voicing the ways she felt, she wasn't really even showing it. But maybe to Alastor if he were noticing her, the way she walked, the way she moved, if anyone could notice it would be him.

She wasn't spending so much time out on the lake since she had met with him last. She wasn't avoiding anyone anymore. She wasn't seeking out Alastor like she had before though either. It had been rather touch and go with her since their unique relationship had started. It was clear to her, maybe or maybe not so much to him, that she wanted to be here with him. With him. It had been subtle before, maybe not even existent at first. But as her emotions grew stronger for him day by day when he was here with her or not it was starting to take it's toll on her. Merrick's encounter wasn't helping her mental health either, but that was really the least of her worries.

After her morning patrol she had made her way up to her den before decloaking and swiping some of the snow just off the face of the stone outside before laying down partially in and out of her den. Her head rested down on her paws as she got comfortable but she wasn't. Her thoughts racing through her in abundance lately. She almost wanted to get out to go hunt or something to keep her mind on anything else. But she stayed there for now.

Alastor had noticed the shift in Relm's personality following their last encounter by the lake, when he'd found her injured and broken emotionally. Where she'd admitted that she loved him and where he had shared his own emotional connection to the young woman. Relm was someone who mattered to him, someone he felt compelled to protect and care for. She was one of his wolves, but knowing that this care was also harming her made things... difficult. It was impossible for Alastor to ignore the way Relm retreated into herself, keeping away from the majority of the pack to keep to herself—even keeping him at a distance—just going through the motions on her own like a phantom stuck in her own life. He hadn't wanted to approach her without some idea or suggestion to make things between them good again, but the dark-furred demon wolf was stuck at a standstill. And every day he delayed, he saw Relm's depression deepen and her dour mood grow. It killed him to watch her crumble into herself like that. He missed the lively fire in her silver eyes. He missed the way she smiled when he passed by. He missed the Relm he knew, not the Relm she'd become.

Yet as the days stretched into weeks and life continued, Alastor could bear the friction no longer. Every day he spent not seeking out Relm was a day he allowed to separate them more and more. Maybe some would say it was better this way; that he should let time and distance drive the wedge between them so she could be free of him and find someone better and more worthy of her than him. But Alastor couldn't let Relm go. He was a selfish bastard in that regard, but he just couldn't. The thought kept him awake at night, trying to figure out how to fix this mess he'd made. He loved Relm, but he couldn't be hers the way she wanted him to be. The only way forward he saw was to talk to Relm.

It was still early enough in the wintry morning when Alastor strode out of his den that some of Elysium would still be asleep. He knew Relm favored the early morning patrols for the solitude they brought, so he'd risen early and left his warm bed to venture out into the snow to find the pink fae. It had snowed the night before and the land was covered in fresh banks of powdery snow, a cold breeze kicking up gusts of the glistening white substance. Alastor trudged through the snow, crunching it beneath large, heavy paws as he headed for Relm's den with a freshly caught salmon in his jaws. When he arrived, he found the young woman lying near the entrance. He greeted her with soft eyes, mouth opening as if to speak, but no words came out. He shut it after a moment of silence, looking away, then sighing and stepping forward to settle himself down on his belly at the den entrance as well, lying against the opposite side from her. Any other day, he would have immediately sought to cuddle her, but with the tensions between them still unresolved, he didn't push his luck. "I brought you breakfast," he said after a moment, passing the salmon over to Relm from across the small space between them.

The sound of Alastor's steps towards her caused her to raise her head but not in any alarm. She looked up at him when he was there, but too didn't say anything. It was always easy to be around him now, at least in ways that she didn't hold back. When she was looking at him it was with any raw emotion she felt. She wasn't struggling to put a smile on her face and act like everything was okay, and she wasn't turning to look away from him. As he stood over her he had her undivided attention, but maybe the ways she looked at him were too much. It felt that way to her. It had come to a point where she knew Alastor could know how she was feeling. And it were times like this when she wished she could shut them out.

Her ghostly eyes just watched as he went to settle down beside her. Pushing his catch towards her in an offering. "Oh..." her paws carefully pressed over each end of the salmon as she pulled it in front of her. "Thank you." Given her troubled feelings it could have been expected that she didn't really have an appetite, but for Alastor she'd make the effort. He wouldn't have to say anything or prod her. But it would be obvious how much she forced it as she pulled a few bites from the fish.

She didn't want him to feel... sorry for her or anything like that. She felt like they had some sort of mutual understanding, may it be unsaid now that they both knew the struggle between them. She had never intended for her emotions to come this far. Quite frankly she believed she was incapable of feeling this way at all. For others it seemed that way, but not for Alastor. And still she would have never foreseen where they were now. She still couldn't... allow anything more. As much as it may have been killing her inside. She did take her own vows seriously because Alastor had the responsibility of the pack, a loving wife, and children that he loved too. To her, she was nothing compared to any of those things. She may not have grown up knowing an ideal family setting, but in her heart it felt wrong for her to think... to ask. She'd still never dream of destroying anything Alastor had. And she'd stay just that way hurting herself without any protest.

She didn't take much, just those couple bites. She wasn't avoiding looking at him, but her gaze was down nearly looking through the fish as she felt this strange sort of tension not between them but within her. Because she would always want Alastor. It had been like that since the day they had created what was between them. Maybe a little more noticeable now of taking advantage of any time he was able to give her, or in the occurrence that she invited him. It wasn't necessarily what he did with her physically because she felt like maybe she could have a substitute for that. It was wholly how she felt about him, being reminded of what he did for her, she'd never feel this way if he hadn't saved her from Kefka. Her eyes finally glanced up towards his face if only for a second before she looked down at his paw in front of her. Her own paw lifted just slightly as she went to move it forward over his, but she didn't place her paw down on his. She was waiting for him to take it. And it was like every exaggerated second he didn't was building a new anxiety inside her.

Just as it was that Alastor could know how Relm was feeling almost instinctually, so too would she be able to see through him as if he were a pane of glass with his innermost thoughts and feelings suspended in its translucent surface. He worried over Relm, felt compelled to take care of her. He wanted to make sure she was fed, provided for, kept warm and loved, loved so deeply in ways that she had been robbed of in her lifetime. When he had buried his own sociopathic father alive, the demon brute had made a vow to never allow another pup to be mistreated the ways he and his siblings had been. Relm fit into that criteria like a perfectly fitted block. Though Alastor did not blame himself for the childhood struggles and traumas she had endured, he did take it upon himself to make sure her life never returned to such dark places. So when she thanked him and took the fish he offered her, a wave of relief settled his agitated nerves knowing that she was being cared for the way she deserved.

Watching her eat quietly for a few minutes, Alastor considered Relm. No, he didn't feel sorry for her. He simply understood her. He understood the pain and the isolation she had felt, what it felt like when it seemed the entire world was against you and you were all alone drifting in an endless sea. Empathy was not sympathy, and Alastor did not sympathize for the girl. But oh gods, did he want to keep her as his and give her the life she deserved, the happiness and love she deserved. Maybe Relm would never know the way Alastor felt about her. She was so far from nothing to him, but she was a divergent path, a split away from what he had built before her. On one path, the pink and ebony fae nestled in at his side, and on the other, his family that he had created from the ashes of nothingness. Right now, the roads did not collide, but they did come close to intersecting. If they stayed apart, he could give Relm all that she wanted and still lead his life with Manea and their children. But the moment they crossed...

Alastor kept his obsidian gaze upon Relm the entire time she ate, and when she finished and peered up at him for the briefest of moments, he felt that spark between them jolt back to life once more. Every time silver met onyx, he felt the electricity in the air. Relm wasn't the only one affected by the sensations their unorthodox relationship had created. He caught her eyes glancing down between them, then saw her paw move hesitantly over towards his. The dire brute didn't hesitate for even a fraction of a second, turning his paw over to gently take hers in his, her soft and warm paw pads pressing tenderly to his own. The simple touch roused fire beneath his skin, the warmth pooling in his belly and spreading throughout every nerve and inch of skin.

While they held paws, Alastor shifted to scoot closer to Relm, not stopping until he felt the softness of her coat brushing against his and her warmth at his side. The last time they had been together, she had asked him not to say anything and he had failed spectacularly. This time, he would let his actions speak for him. Dipping his muzzle in closer to hers, Alastor would move in to gently run his tongue over the side of Relm's muzzle, grooming her and cleaning her of any remnants of fish meat—a tender show of affection that was wholly uncharacteristic for the giant wolf, save for the wolves he held closest to his blackened heart.

It was instant relief as Alastor took hold of her paw, even if there was barely a second between their touch it was like this build of tension inside her prior thinking that he wouldn't. It was strange to think that she felt like she needed it, she needed Alastor against her. It was so different with everyone else, it was so different than before. With Alastor she could be herself and she could be something completely different than she was outside of their relationship. She was not the same when she was with him, but almost every bit of anxiety and exceptions she felt of herself were washed away when she was here with him. Especially when he was now taking her paw and moving in closer to her.

With his muzzle lined up with hers it was more than obvious just how relieving it was for her. A quiet sigh through closed eyes as she leaned back into him. She knew what she wanted as much as she may not have experienced it before. She had realized what they had was not enough. But she knew there was no one else for her. There would never be a moment that anyone would feel like Alastor. Not physically, not emotionally. She'd never be able to have what she wanted. She was not selfish, she could have asked for more and completely destroyed the relationship they had, or destroyed what he already had. She couldn't. She couldn't express just how strongly she felt and how belittling of herself she was. But maybe that showed enough on the outside to tell.

Her own paw curled just a little tighter around his before she turned her muzzle softly to kiss him. She was gentle but wanted to urge him on. But the hurt and doubt far outweighed anything else she could show him. She barely pulled back from him with just a single noise, "I..." Her ghostly eyes looked up towards him, maybe pleading, maybe just too emotional to say anything at all. I'm sorry, I want you, I love you, it was everything at once. She did take every moment she had with Alastor as if it was her last moment to live, she could always cherish any time he had given her. It was a way of life she wished she could fully grow used to. But she couldn't. Maybe it wasn't in anyone's nature to do so, or at least that's how it felt with her because any life without Alastor was worse to imagine even with the disarray she felt right now. She did hesitate again but she didn't let go of him, she didn't want to. They were past an irreversible time and for her every way was a wrong and brutal path.

Lying beside Relm, their bodies gently leaned into one another's, sharing warmth while they gazed out at the snowy world just beyond the mouth of the den felt right to the dire brute. There were precious few times in his chaotic life when Alastor felt truly at peace or like he was home, but when he was with her, those feelings overtook him. Only two wolves had ever been able to make him feel this way—Manea and Relm. Not even Lurid, even when they'd been betrothed. Everyone else saw him as one of three things: a monster, a weapon for them to use, or something they could mold and manipulate to their will. Only Manea and Relm had ever seen him as someone. A few precious others, like Kichi and Seraphina, had accepted him for who he was, but not in the same way. She brought out the good in him, what few traces of humanity remained in his tattered soul. She took him as he was, and what was more, she loved him for who he was. Alastor would forever be bound to the Abraxas fae for that reason.

Together they held paws, the brute listening to how the fae sighed and relaxed as he showed her the simple, tender affections. Their relationship was complicated, complex, yet also so innately basic. A mutual attraction, a similarity of spirits, an understanding of one another at their core level. After some time of lying cuddled close, Alastor felt Relm shift until her muzzle leaned up to connect with his in a soft kiss. Sparks seared through his nerves, radiating warmth out from where her lips pressed into his until his whole body was consumed by the tingling sensation. He kissed her back, their lips parting a few too-short moments later and drawing a subtly growled breath from the behemoth of a wolf. Relm uttered a single syllable beneath her breath, looking up to him with pleading eyes. She didn't need to; Alastor would have given her more just from her kiss alone. Without another word from either of them, Alastor brought his free paw up to cup Relm's cheek, moving to guide her mouth back to his as he claimed it with his own in a much deeper, lingering kiss.

The fire swelled inside him again, the molten heat in his core churning and boiling to the surface as desire stoked it like bellows to a forge. Obsidian eyes drifted closed the moment their lips met, giving himself wholly up to Relm and his desire for her. She may have hesitated, but Alastor did not. He knew what he wanted, knew what she wanted—he could read it in her body—and he was willing to give her everything she wanted and more. She didn't speak the words on her mind, but his actions spoke his clear as day to her. I want you. I need you. I love you. You're mine. All the things she hadn't said nor wanted him to say. His paw holding hers gripped a little firmer, keeping a secure hold on her, a reassuring gesture that he wasn't letting her go. His tail, now wagging slowly behind him in bliss, shifted to try and find hers so it could snake around and embrace it, doing all he could to keep all of him wrapped around her body. No matter how close they got, it never felt like it was close enough. Alastor only broke their mouths apart when his lungs demanded air, separating their mouths with a gasp for breath, but not withdrawing more than an inch from her, already prepped and ready to go back in for another helping of the intoxicating young woman like she was his own personal brand of heroin.

Relm was still not versed in kissing, but she didn't have to be. She easily molded to Alastor's movements and found his own rhythm as one. She was still learning with him as her teacher, but he was so much more to her than that. Clearly. She'd never be placed like this beside him otherwise. Her every emotion was raw to him, and really no matter how hard she tried she couldn't block that out. He'd still know when she was off or holding back, he'd know when something was wrong.

This time though... it may have become more clear what was wrong inside her. After their last true encounter it didn't need to go spoken between them as it was most of the time. She couldn't tell him that this very forefront part of her wanted to be in Manea's place, but the emotions were there. Maybe not pinpointed to those specific thoughts, but knowing that Relm would never fully be satisfied with what they had. She could be contented, she could live her life like this until it was Alastor's time. It would always be in an eternal suffering though after their time together.

The longer they kissed, the longer Alastor held her paw and touched her, the easier it was to indulge. To pull herself back into that place with him, to believe or feel for only a few moments that it was just them. She was always at his whim, it was easy for him to direct her but in ways that she wanted unlike the times she had been with other men. With Alastor she loved every way he touched her and moved her, it was a completely other side of the spectrum with anyone else. But she was all the same either way.

She rolled to him, completely embraced by him, she too gasped for air when he took them apart but like she needed more. Like it hurt her to be apart from him. It did. Deeper than just the physical effects he gave her. He thawed her to her core, and just for this moment she could forget anything that was causing her the distress she showed so obviously or at least for him. Her paws carefully ran down his chest when their lips parted her partially lusted gaze flashing up towards his own face, "I'll always want you, Alastor." Just like this, more than this. In his highest or weakest moments. It just kept striking deeper the more she could think about how much she just wanted to be there for him.

Relm had made tremendous strides in growing more comfortable within her own body in romantically charged situations like this one, the dire brute noted. When Alastor had first taken her in his maddened rage state, she still flinched from nearly every touch, still grew cold and hard at the closeness of another. Now, wrapped up in his arms with his tongue roaming her maw, Alastor felt no stiffness nor lifelessness. Relm was warm, malleable, moving easily to match his rhythms with her own. Together the two wolves fed their lusts from one another, perfect mimics of one another's innermost baser desires. Perhaps in another life, another timeline, Relm would have been his and wholly his, the way that she wanted to be. But little did the pink and onyx fae know, Alastor was also harboring those deeper desires that he did his best to ignore. He loved Manea with all his heart and soul, cherished the family they had built together, but a deeper part of himself still fantasized about the impossible. He thought of her as his and only his, the two spending their days roaming the world or settling down somewhere in the forest, tangled up in one another every chance they got until she bore him black and red and pink pups. They would build a family, watch it grow and expand it every year. The life he was already leading, essentially, but with a twist. Fun to imagine, but never to be.

Just as Relm bent to his will and gave herself over to his every whim, Alastor was a slave to Relm's lusts and desires. Whatever she wanted of him, he would give her. If she wanted him wild and dominant, she would have him. If she wanted him tender and passionate, she would have him. If she wished to be on top and dominate him, she would also have him then. Relm was like a drug to him, getting him high on every contact, one he could not and did not want to wean himself off of. He adored their time together, no matter how restricted it might be, and took all he could get from the young woman. Alastor gazed deeply into Relm's argent eyes while they both gasped for breath, seeing the electricity shimmering within them that he felt between their bodies, like a live wire sparking with violent life. Relm made him feel alive like seldom few other wolves could. Relm's paws roamed down his chest, her paw pads leaving warm static on his skin in their wake wherever she touched him. The dire brute slid his paw from Relm's cheek down the side of her neck, deadly siam claws extended to ever so delicately comb through her fur and just barely prick at her skin with the tips. He slid his paw down Relm's shoulder, snaking the powerful limb across her back to drape around her sides and pull her body taut to his side. No matter how close he got to Relm, it never felt like enough for Alastor.

Amidst his advances, Relm declared that she would always want him. Alastor gave a little tilt to his head while he lost himself in the silvery depths of her eyes, considering her words. She would always want him, and he would always want her. Always, in all ways. A possessive growl rumbled low in Alastor's chest, not threatening, but assertive of his desires over the young fae. His paw flexed, groping at her hip while he held her in his strong embrace. "I will always want you, Relm," he replied in husky, lust-ragged tones. "You are mine. My Relm, always my Relm." Alastor brought his muzzle back to hers, placing a tender kiss of affection to the end of her nose before he flicked his tongue at her lips. Obsidian eyes flashed mischievously as he gave her a little playful grin. "Show me how much you want me." It was a bit of a challenge and a bit of a game. Alastor wanted to see what Relm would do if given dominion over him. Together, they could pretend they were the only wolves in the world. Relm wanted to be Manea, so he would let her get a taste of what that was like. The only question was whether she would take him up on his offer. Would she claim him as he had done to her?

Every time Alastor pulled her closer just fed into her. The way his claws ran over her skin, pulled her hips against his, it made her urge for more than felt possible. It was easy to look right at him unlike how she looked at others. Wanting to sometimes shut her feelings out from him but knowing he could read her like a book. She used it to her advantage like she was now. Showing Alastor with some spoken words between them just how deeply she wanted to feel for him. Ways that were blocked by the path of his own life and some of hers too. It would be easy if she could find something to exchange for Alastor, but it could never be that way for her.

Maybe she was young and naive, the way she saw only him like he was the last drink of water on earth. But she saw him this way because of the history they had together. It was obvious maybe to the both of them she was at the end of her rope with thinking she could just move on from him. She didn’t want to move on, but she also felt like she couldn’t live a life without Alastor or someone there in his place which had become impossible for her. She was tired of trying.

Alastor made it easy for her to turn, for just this moment and a few after she could drop the somber emotions that festered under her skin. She could put on a genuine faint smile as he looked at her this way. Sharing their physical desires with Relm knowing just how much Alastor cared for her, she could feel it, she could shut out any of her doubts and worries and ways of life she couldn’t have with him. Relm didn’t say anything as he responded, taking his affectionate kiss as her soft gaze looked back up at him and he told her to show him. She was his, and as much as he couldn’t fully be hers she would live in the moment given to her. She never took their time together for granted, it never felt the same every time. It always felt new and strong and Relm never wanted it to stop.

Wholly surrounded by Alastor, her forelegs squeezed him lightly while she pushed forward to kiss him again, asking him silently to help her find that perfect match with him. Affectionate and eager, she could ask for the pace to change with just a gentle push until she was confident enough in her own strides. Relm’s chest put just enough pressure to suggest he roll on his back but without wanting to disconnect their lips. Her paws finding their place between their chests she flexed her less deadly claws into the thick of his fur before grinding her hips against his. She was always quite the tease, but it was what she loved the most in their times together. Brushing her lower parts over his but not making that final fit could almost send her into a frenzy. Feeling the hard parts of him against the thin and sensitive skin of her stomach made her breath shudder when she pulled her lips away from his for just a few seconds before reaching back up for more. Knowing that she could do this to him, make him feel this way, it gave her more confidence and admiration than he may have known. She loved feeling and seeing this physical part of him, everything driven from her emotional connection to him.

Pausing for just a moment her breath hot because it wasn’t enough for her yet as she kept holding them off. Her muzzle dropped carefully down to his cheek, "Show me something new Alastor." She was daring and dangerous in her tone. She wouldn’t have him caged under her but she didn’t move from where she was on top of him. She wanted to experience everything with Alastor and she knew he would have guidance to lead her into both of their found pleasures again. Still not even fully inside her den she looked at him with a fiery longing to see where he would take her next.
