With the race completed she moved on to getting the fishing tournament up and running. The big melee fight would be the last event of the festival since it seemed like that was the thing that everyone was the most excited about and would be the be big finale to the whole festival. The fishing tournament still had a good turnout though and she was already taking notes for how to make their next festival even better, making note of what kind of events the others seemed to like and which ones they didn't. She got out all of the nets, fishing poles, bait, and spears that she had crafted and collected in preparation for this and set out a large bucket for each participant to put their catches into. She had to make a quick trip up to their supply stores to grab a couple extra buckets, but with that she was ready.
She gathered up the wolves that had volunteered to participate, her brother and Kichi among them, and had them line up around the shore of the lake. She had secretly been feeding and stocking their lake over the last month or two to make sure there was plenty of fish to be had for the contest. There were mostly newer faces in this group including Jane and Fern from the Auster dwelling pack that she seemed to recall occupying a castle, the golden-furred young man that had joined their pack recently named Arcturus, and his friend named Vanille. She was repeating all of these names to herself frequently as the festival continued to try and learn them all, but there were far more new wolves to meet than she had even anticipated. "The rules are simple!" she called out so all the participants could hear. "Catch as many fish as you can before the time runs out! There are nets, poles, spears, and bait for you to pick from, but the method is entirely up to you!" She gave them a moment to decide what they wanted to do and get ready and then she started counting them down. "Ready? On three... One... Two... Three!"

Saracyn approached the rocky shore of Alias Lake, glancing out at the clear waters shimmering in the winter sun. He had chosen to join the fishing competition for two main reasons: he really loved fishing, and he was very familiar with this lake. He'd spent months training with his raptors by its shore, catching fish from it for seasons. If there was anyone here amongst this motley crew of fisher wolves that had a home field advantage, it was him. Once everyone had arrived and was ready, Avacyn announced the rules. Catch as many fish as you could with whatever methods you chose. Sara nodded; simple enough. His sister gave the countdown, and once the contest began, Sara let out a sharp whistle and ran for the supplies, snatching up a spear in his jaws just as his raptors swooped down from a pine tree nearby. He gave a motion of his head and the avians glided out over the lake, scanning through the water to find clusters of fish and diving down for them as Saracyn followed their movements and dashed into the shallow water, lancing his spear towards any movement his keen eyes caught.

Excitement buzzes in the air as wolves gather along the shore of the lake that rests inside Elysium borders. Fern is among the wolves that await the start of the fishing tournament and she looks back to where the spectators are. Spying Rudyard’s gray form in the huddle, she offers him a huge smile and eager wave before turning back to look at Avacyn. The purple wolf lays out the rules which are simple enough to follow and gives the count down. Once she reaches three, Fern begins to move toward the supplies, faltering for a moment when Saracyn whistles for his birds. However, she quickly recovers and arrives at the supplies just as the red and black boy runs off with a spear.
Offering Jane an encouraging smile, Fern gathers a net, spear, and a bucket of bait before trotting off down the shoreline. She finds a spot that is away from the other contestants and where she can see fish braking the surface of the water. Setting her equipment down, she takes a health scoop of bait and tosses it out into the water. Putting the scoop back into the bucket, Fern then carefully spreads out the net and makes sure there are no tangles. Satisfied, she moves to the water’s edge with the net and tosses it as far out onto the lake as she can while keeping the loose ends in her mouth to pull the net back toward her. She sets to work chumming the water and tossing the net out and pulling it in to catch what she can.

Fern has a female stoat companion named Puff. She is always nearby.

Kichi wasn’t a fan of being around a bunch of strangers. He’d avoided the feast, offering instead to patrol the border to keep an eye out for any trouble. The idea of fighting the other wolves in some melee where he had to play nice hadn’t sounded as if it would be fun, not compared to a real fight. In an attempt to participate in some fashion he’d reluctantly decided to sign up for the fishing contest.
Kichi was still growing in his hunting skills but to be honest he hadn’t bothered much with fishing. He had imagined just catching the fish in his mouth but with the items laid out the silver and white wolf figured he might try using one of the poles. At the count of three, he jogged over to grab a pole and slide into the shallow water's edge, feeling the water sliding over the top of his paws.
Kichi considered his new tactic of choice and while the task was to catch as many as possible he decided to take his time, not stabbing for every fish but the carefully aiming jab at the fish that seemed larger than others, hoping to have better luck with larger targets to jab at.

When Vanille was invited to the festival, she didn't really know how to feel. She had spent so long in solitude and only more recently with Arcturus that being around this many others was overwhelming. She was able to manage though. She was quite reserved and quiet, and that wouldn't change. She'd only flash smiles at Arcturus when they were together, here she had to play the game on her own.
Once Avacyn instructed them with the rules and counted down, Vanille made her way to the supplies grabbing a couple nets and a single pole, of course leaving things for others to use. It took her longer to get her things together, but she figured it would be worth it in the end. She quickly tied the two nets together and then one end to the pole before heading out into the waters. Sticking her pole into a softer part of the bottom of the lake, she finally made her attempt to fish. With her pole anchored into the ground, she walked out in a wide circle of her own radius and then moved inwards. The only thing she hadn't considered was getting the fish back to land so... She'd have to only carry a couple at a time if she caught any. She'd hook a corner of her net to the pole to keep whatever fish she had caught inside the net before heading back towards land to deposit a couple if that's what she had.
