He had spoken to Hana in some detail about the packs he knew of in the land. The only pack he really had anything decent to speak of was Abaven. As for Lirim, he was simply able to say it ‘existed’ after his talk with her, he found himself tossing on that lack of knowledge. His raid to Aerie had been born partly information gathering, and what he had learned was just how tiny that pack was. His beloved had been upset with the whole affair, and even he could see how attacking such a small pack was a blow to his pride.

As much as he liked to keep himself secluded, he needed to at least have a basic set of knowledge about who else shared power in the land. But! On the bright side, the reclusive Alpha didn’t have to go himself. That was what a diplomat was for, was it not?

He approached the den his son had built for her, and found the koi-coloured girl sunbathing outside. He approached her, and gave her a side a gentle nudge with his foot. “Hey, How do you feel about earning your keep?” he teased her. He had enough respect and appreciation for the young wolf that he wasn’t above needling her a time or two.

Hanako wasn't napping, okay? She was just resting her eyes as she basked in the warmth of the sun. Sure there were other things she could be doing, arguably more important things, but she'd always carried the mentality of work smart, not hard. Besides her job required direction, it wasn't menial or mindless, and she couldn't just beat up a training dummy and call it a job well done. So to an outsider with untrained eyes it might look as though she was just lounging around but in fact- yeah she was just laying around, no amount of fluffy words could cover it up.

Content to lay there she thought nothing of the approaching paw steps till an oversized foot was poking her shoulder. Her eye flicked open and she stretched out her limbs, straight and stiff, as grumbly sigh rushed from her nose. She was tempted to remain as she was but banter aside she knew Sirius deserved the courtesy of her full attention and so she rolled herself off her back and onto her haunches. For a moment she pretended to mull over his words, tipping her head for that extra thoughtful look.

"Depends. What do you have in mind?" She said, as if she wouldn't trot off in whichever direction he pointed to. It was easy to follow suit with his banter, to give him what he wanted and needed from his Wraith.

He waited well she shook off the sleepy haze of her rest and turned her attention to him. She seemed to be debating, but he didn’t doubt for a moment she would hop-to. He seated himself on his hunches before her. No less towering from his seated position, and snorted at her blasé reaction.

“Some reconacense. I’ve been thinking lately how little I know about some of the packs. Lirim in particular. I figure you could pop by with a bunch of flowers or whatever-” he flapped a paw “Happy go-lucky friendly wolves do and say hello. Get me some names and numbers and intentions, that sort of thing.” He explained. He had no intention of attacking Lirim at this time, but he also didn’t know if they were the type to stir up trouble themselves.

He would make sure there was support nearby to pull Hana out of trouble if it came to that. He had considered setting Resin up as her handler. A wolf capable of fighting for her freedom if he wasn’t close enough to do it himself. He would need to reconsider his wolf. Maybe Azure would take the job for now. He would have the added benefit of teaching them a lesson and knocking their heads together for messing with his wolf.

Hanako hummed, that sounded simple enough. Not so different from her trip to Valhalla, though she hoped- or rather expected- that she'd receive a much warmer welcome this time. Even now she had no idea what their problem had been, why they'd taken her visit as a chance to get all high and mighty and act as though the Armada was nothing but dirt compared to their shining glory. Hanako had always been the sort to try and give people the benefit of the doubt, to look past offences others wouldn't ignore, but even she had her limits.

She had to admit though she was intrigued, tempted by the mystery that Lirim represented. Her "failure" at Valhalla was through no fault of her own but it'd been frustrating nonetheless, like talking to a brick wall. It was about dang time that Sirius had given her a chance to well and truly flex her diplomatic muscles, to show off how well she could play this game. She already knew what her answer would be, and so should he, but she had a few questions to ask before they got there.

"You want me to go as your diplomat, or just Hanako?" She could work with either version, but if he wanted her to approach the pack with no strings attached then she'd have to do a bit of preparation, cover her scent and come up with a story etc etc.

“No, go as my diplomat, feel free to give off an affable air, but make no promises of the pack well you are there. If you think a gift will go down well, pick something from the stores.” he offered her. She was welcome to take whatever resources she believed would make things go over well. Valhalla was - or at least, had been - a friendly pack, and they had thought to bring gifts. He had not accepted them, leaving nothing owed between them and making her no promises, but perhaps he could pinch the idea. Of course, Valhalla had finally shown their friendliness to be only a front. Beneath it they were self-righteous little shits.

His own idea of diplomacy was not beating them up on sight. Which was partly why he had never bothered in the past to make an effort with the packs surrounding him. Besides, he was likely to raid any of them some point in the future, and he, unlike Valhalla, wasn’t two-faced. Which was why Hana was to make no promises, so he would not break them later.

There wasn't much for her to consider this time since his request sounded easy enough. But wasn't that the way of things? At surface value it seemed simple but like many things she knew that beneath the surface she'd find a labyrinth of complications and what ifs to address. Regardless, these factors were her burden to bare and not Sirius', if she couldn't adapt on her paws then what right did she have to be his diplomat? As to whether she'd bring a gift or not...she wasn't sure if she could be bothered to carry it, to be honest. If she could foist it onto Toshi then sure, but Hanako was no pack mule!

As to not making any promises she didn't feel like that'd be an issue. She knew her words carried some weight but she'd hadn't-yet, if ever- gotten into the habit of letting the power go to her head. Hanako was happy to loaf around the pack territory but when it was time to get up on the stage and put on a show she'd put her heart and soul into the performance, till even she couldn't tell where the lines got blurred.

"Of course. So how do I get there?" That was the next question on the agenda, his directions had served her well last time so she expected more of the same.
