Appearance

Build wise, Vanta is everything a proud Fatalis warrior should be. Like many others of her family she stands at a towering fourty-five inches, though unlike many of her dire siblings she sports a build that would be considered 'light'. Trim and fit at the peak of her physical fitness, it is clear that Vanta spends the vast majority of her free time training and toning. Belonging to the first generation of Fatalis' to be northern born and raised, she has adapted well to the difficult environment and it shows not only in her strength and endurance, but also in the thickness of her plush coat.

Color-wise she has inherited much from her mother (and as well can admit to sharing the aging Queen's vanity). The base of her coat is a soft beige, brought together by an earthy brown splotched saddle and more of the same color spread like shading upon her limbs, throat, and shoulder.

Spread throughout her body in patches upon her saddle, thighs, forelimbs and framing her eyes are a more vibrant accent of turquoise. Where the fur is coloured the follicle as well has changed, hardening and becoming almost translucent like crystal.

These bits of crystalline fur are denser and sharper than her normal coat, and where they catch the light they seem to reflect a brilliant blue glow. Upon her face the crystal fur is as short as can be, layered delicately and with precision up her muzzle, atop her eyes and wrapping around them to form an angular and reflective crystalline mask.

Centred within this mask the crystal returns for a final time, in a multi-faceted layer of gemstone that covers the entire eye. If one looks close enough they can see past the defect into the bright golden eyes that lay behind.

The crystal is thin enough for Vanta to see through well enough, however the nature of the disability draws light back into her eye painfully and therefore she spends her daytime hours either sleeping, or self-contained to the pack-owned tunnels below the mountain.

Personality

The definitely not vanta-black sheep of the family, Vanta differs from them in personality and ideals almost as much as she resembles them in appearance. While softer-aligned wolves do exist in the family, this pup leans much closer to a traditional 'knight' then she does 'warlord'. Vanta believes that right and wrong, good and evil exist - and rather than just accepting the existence of these concepts, actively seeks to lean the balance of the world firmly toward 'good'. She will not turn her head and ignore depraved acts such as slavery, murder, rape and torture, and would rather actively take up arms against them, the wolves who commit these acts, and the wolves who stand idly by and allow these acts to happen beneath their noses.

Understandable so, these ideals may cause loud and noticeable clashes in and amongst her current familial circle. While the Fatalis family as a whole is not considered quite 'evil', Vanta will likely butt heads with leadership and her cohort over their differing ideals as well as the way her pack and it's allies do business. In this woman's eyes, the family is lucky to have such a large group of powerful wolves, known (and sometimes feared) for their unrelenting might and combat prowess. Why not use that power for good and make a change in Boreas and Auster?

While this alignment will be firmly rooted within her even as a child, Vanta will struggle with insecurity from the moment she is born. While members of her family are often everything a wolf dreams of and more, she is continually held back by her crippling disability. The lack of primarily nocturnal wolves within the Armada will sow loneliness, and the stigma against disabled children that some (cough, Azure, cough) family members do not even try to hide wears her confidence down more each day.

While she strives to become a capable warrior on par with her father, it takes time (and a specific special circumstance) for her to learn to overcome her natural disadvantages. When the day finally comes where she is able to break out of her shell and become the wolf she truly wants to be, it is likely that the guilt she feels from not following her own ideals properly as a child will propel her even harder into righteousness.

Toward her family, Vanta is exceptionally soft. Forgiving and trusting to a fault, she sees the best in every individual and oftentimes as a child finds herself making excuses for them. With her parents she is very close, idolising each of them for vastly different things, and hoping that one day she can be the very best of both of them. It is not an easy path to travel, and will require years as well as a generous amount of reflection before she is able to carve away at the mould she has been given and discover who she's meant to be.

It is very likely that as her ambition grows, she will one day seek to form a pack of her own that suits her unique ideals and seeks to be the change she wishes to see in the world. While she is aware of the potential for this goal to cause a rift between her and the wolves she dearly loves, Vanta's selflessness and honour would not allow her to abandon her calling simply for the sake of earning the acceptance of her family.
