Reminiscent of both caribou and the American elk Rannoch is perfectly pelted to blend into both a tundra or plains like setting. He would find himself equally at home on mountain slopes and forests. Swathed mainly in a deep woody brown that darkens on his legs, shoulder hump, and stripes up his muzzle and down his thigh. His belly, cheeks, and rump are all quite pale but fade and contrast with the darker streaks of fur. White caps his chin and stands out against his forehead in the shape of an oak leaf.

Rannoch will become a massive beast but retain all of the grace of his kind. He will have soft feet, but his hooves will also be his greatest weapon. Sturdy according to his size, with strong flowing muscles and well sculpted features. As he ages he will bulk more, growing into a much thicker neck and face.

Alert - Quiet - Passionate
Always alert, no matter what is in front of him there aren't many moments when the young deer is relaxed. He will always be the odd one out and despite his size that makes him a much larger target for predators. He takes extra care to know his surroundings and practices great spatial awareness. Trust is difficult to earn from a prey species and Rannoch is no different. Intent is key though, and however controlled by fear he may be there is intellect behind forest green eyes. Blind fear is as dangerous as the threat. Being observant and quiet are keys to survival, which makes Rannoch quite perceptive on multiple levels. Patience follows after these virtues, while a young bull he will struggle to conquer the trait.

This difficulty adds to his lack of control of his emotions. Fight or flight courses through his veins and sometimes fight wins out especially closer to the rut season. Instinct takes a huge role in his everyday life, and his emotions go along with that as strongly as his hard headedness. There isn’t much that can convince him to relinquish his strong held beliefs and biases. Rannoch is passionate and fiery when it comes to what he believes is right. When it comes to his herd and those he truly cares about his emotions are easy to see. He loves and cares deeply because life is fleeting and no one is promised tomorrow. personality
