Gavroche came from the continent of Lyenne, a land somewhat similar to Boreas and Auster in the sense it was made up of many lands and many different packs. He was born in the heart of the Kedieo Empire, the grandson of the Empress, Keno. His mother, Phoenix, was one of the “favored” children of the Empress and by those good graces alone, despite his puny size and the odd mutation he was born with, he was allowed to live. He was taught about the religion of Foi by his mother and follows it to this day.
The winged male was a target of his grandmother’s ire early on, however. His wings, said to be a curse of the gods by the crazed tyrant, were all the reason she needed to try and maim him as he neared being a yearling. Thankfully for Gavroche, he had help. His cousin, a dire wolf by the name of Melanthios stood up to Keno and fought her on Gav’s behalf. The end result, however, was her being maimed and both of them getting exiled.
Gavroche fled, meeting a companion, a rat, by the name of Houdini on the way. He traveled to Ardent, meeting several wolves. He survived the volcanic eruption, as well as being a slave for a period of time. Sadly he lost his companion during that natural disaster. After he was free again, however, Gavroche began to travel Ardent once more. During a storm, the small wolf got struck by a stray branch that left scarring on his forehead. He met his companions, Jessie and James, shortly thereafter.
Life would have been fine for Gavroche had Kedieo guards not come and captured him. He was taken back to be publicly executed but, as fate would have it, he was not alone. He spoke to the woman who had been brought for execution as well, learning her name is Bellamy, a follower of Foi and an ex-slave of the Empire. They speak throughout the night, and, by morning, Bellamy tells Gavroche that she has a plan.
Abusing the natural cocky confidence of the Kedieo line Bellamy challenges Gav’s half-sister as the executions are to begin. She challenges the current empress to a death match, and, due to the Empress’ own orders, none are to interfere. After Bellamy’s victory the citizens of the empire riot, banding together to chase off the Kedieo family. Where the line went after that is unknown… but Gavroche sticks with Bells after that, wanting to treat her wounds at the very least after all she’s done.
But, just as Bellamy fell for him, the winged male finds himself falling for the vulgar creature. He sees a soul deeper within that needs love, that is capable of love, and he falls hard. It doesn’t take long after that for the two of them to mate and, before long, their firstborn and the only pup of her litter is born. They name the little one Lucette, and, for a time, everything is normal.
In Autumn of Year 17 a hurricane hits the area where the family is staying. Gavroche and Bellamy are separated from Lucette and though they spend countless nights searching for their little girl, they don’t find her. They end up back in Ardent in Spring of Year 18.
