Pyralis
Smoldering and sultry, Pyralis bears her name well. The markings of her coat twist and spiral like the dying flames of a funeral pyre heaving clouds of billowing smoke in an inky black sky. Rich auburn hues adorn her legs, fading, twisting and melting into a smokey gray that disperses into a base coat of deep, midnight black. Her chest and undersides are stained with the same smokey color that also accents her eyes. Amidst the main twining, heated hues of her pelt lies flashes of the purest white which stands out all the brighter for the darkness around it. It marks her toes, the underside of her paws and rests as a shimmering patch over her left eye. A whisper of moonlight in a starless sky. It would almost be a perfect mark if it weren't for the blaze of jagged, white lightning that seems to run down from the the left side of her forehead through the circular patch and down the left side of her face. Pyralis' eyes glimmer of rich gold, like medallions flickering in flames.
Pyralis is a large femme, standing at 42" but with her size there is also a distinct elegance. A deadly grace in the way she moves. She is no heavy bruiser but neither is she some slight elfin wisp. She is edges and well-defined muscle, dips and sways revealing her femininity,dangerous and lithe like a panther.
Piratical and insubordinate, Pyralis has little love of authority. She's far more interested in herself and dealing with her wants and desires than anyone else. Freedom is precious to her and her strong will and tempestuous nature make her difficult to gauge and control, much like the flames for which she's named. Very few can cool her hot-blooded tenacity but she has a keen respect for her family and the few close friends she has. Though she may butt-heads with them occasionally in her love of playing devil's advocate she has an innate trust in those she's closest to, especially in a crisis.
Pyralis is skilled in manipulation and misdirection. She has little problem with cheating, lying and stealing to meet her own ends. She loves the rush of battle, the twists and turns of a well-played game. Through her fangs she displays her ferocity, but its through her mind the nature of her cunning comes to light. She has no problem preying on others, especially those she sees as rivals, raiding their homes and shattering veils of peach and serenity. She'll take what she wants and then fade into the night like a whisper of smoke.
Pyralis is a courageous woman. She is dauntless in the face of fear and uncertainty and when she has a job to do and the will to do it. Pyralis backs down for no one. A survivor and fighter she has seen dark days and walked straight through hell and instead of giving in and melting into nothing she pulls herself together and molds herself into something stronger.
Deep and tempestuous, Pyralis has the temperament of an ocean. Calm and welcoming one minute, stormy and violent the next. She is relaxed and easy-going most of the time, then like a tempest her quick temper can erupt from seemingly nowhere. It's difficult to know what might set her off but her temper burns quick and hot. Much like a suddens storm it will cool as quickly as it arose, but this does not mean the matter that incited her ire has been dropped.
Proud and spirited Pyralis is also a vengeful woman. She detests feelings of shame and hates being taken advantage of or being made a fool. She believes in giving back seven-fold and gives in easily to vindication. It is in games of vengeance that her turbulent mood can be particularly apparent. Some days she's is patience personified, careful and calculating and other times she explodes like the sea in a storm, crashing into her tormentors with the fury of a hurricane.
Passionate and intense Pyralis is spitfire that resists being reigned in. She loves to embrace her freedom by exploring and enjoys taking the time to think and clear her head. She has a disdain for routine and abhors anything that she feels fences her in. The exploration of new lands, the uncertainty of what lies around the corner, the constant shift and ebb and flow of living give her a zest for life and the world around her. Adaptable to ever changing circumstances she loathes stagnation and complacency and feels constantly driven to see what lies just up ahead, to chase an unending horizon. Joy to her is truly in the seeking, not in the finding.
